WelcomeMARECO Consultants Limited is a small independent company offering a range of tailored environmental consultancy services. The company was established in 2006 by Kirsten Geddes and Nicola Kenyon with the objective of providing high quality advice and deliverables attainable to both larger organisations and local operators. By keeping the company small-scale and operating on a personal level MARECO delivers a high standard of service at reasonable costs.

MARECO is based on the outskirts of Stromness in the Orkney Islands, home to the European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC), placing us at the heart of renewables development in the UK. Being based in this rural island community gives us a first hand insight into environmental and development issues associated with the marine and coastal zone.

We are committed to protecting the environment through promoting the balanced use and harnessing of natural resources; this is achieved by following the principles of sustainable development and by applying our specific expertise to individual situations to produce tailor-made solutions.

MARECO’s founding principle is to follow a clear set of objectives, both environmental and business, which will steer the company’s work ethic and differentiate us in the market.
